Type Locality and Naming

Along the village of Palvantaş, South-Eastern Fergana. S.N. Simakov, 1953 (1953, p. 101).

Synonym: Palvantash Suite, Палвантлашская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Gray, variegated clays, sandstones with layers of gypsum, limestones, and marls. Thickness 30-70 m, up to 400 m in the depression.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

It lies conformably on the Yalovach Fm

Upper contact

It is conformably overlain by the Sarytok Fm, sometimes transgressively by the Paleogene.

Regional extent
